Some of South Africa’s best potters and sculptors work with Botanica to introduce new designs in line with the latest trends and developments in interior and exterior décor and container gardening and landscaping.
Currently, Botanica’s gold medal award product line includes over 3000 line products in the range. Many of Botanica’s product lines are made from a patented fibre resin, which means that they are extremely lightweight, resistant to breakage and durable in all conditions. The range includes over 200 different finishes, either textured or smooth. Samples can be viewed on the website.
The aging process that Botanica uses is unique to its product range. Pure granulated metals, marble and other materials are embedded into the resin containers and then taken through an aging process, which results in a finish that resembles the original artefact, be it an ancient urn or water feature. The benefits of this process is that the products are easy to clean.
The metals, marble and other materials used include among others copper, bronze, iron, zinc, marble, sandstone and terra cotta that create a finish in the most subtle hues of verdigris, sandstone, terra cotta, rusts, sand, greys and whites, which mature and improve with age, resulting in a product that has its own unique characteristics and intrinsic value.
Finishes are also available in bright colours on the smooth finished products to accommodate modern designs and environments.
